Yes – there are otters in Delaware!
They are in nearly every part of the peninsula, hanging out in fresh water and brackish rivers, lakes, marshes and estuaries. Once a rarity, they are now a pretty common sight – thanks to stricter conservation laws against trapping and pollution.
Otters have boundless enthusiasm for play. They use play:
- As a source of recreation.
- To strengthen social bonds.
- As an effective way to learn or practice life skills.
